What's everyone charging for the "Little Tree" car freshers? I am at $1.00@, in my glass front vendor. I sell quite a few of these, and devote 10 of 24 slots to these. Today, when cleaning up, I noticed a single pack carded little tree that was sold at a nearby full serve wash for $1.49. I guess the carded look adds perceived value?!

We are selling them at 1 dollar in our vendor as well. We recently purchased a 5 column little tree vending machine, and all the decals and everything that come on it has $1.25 on it. The machine itself even comes pre programmed to vend them at 1.25.

If you do tokens like we do though, it makes more sense to keep everything priced in 1 dollar increments. I think 2 dollars would be too much, so 1 it is.

Same as BBE said. We dispense $1 tokens only, so everything is in dollar increments. Trees and the little AA packs are the only items that are $1, though. All other items are $2 or $3. Even with shipping, trees are less than 50 cents a unit. So a 50+ cent profit is good for no work, other than loading the machine.

I'm selling them for 1.00 but I'm thinking about getting one of the electric 5 columns from kleenrite as I saw they are giving you 864 trees with it.

If I buy that I'll probably just keep it at 1.25 as I'm still serving quarters.

I don't feel right charging more than half the purchase price of vending. I'm keeping them at $1 until they get more expensive.

I'm assuming you mean "double", not half. I don't understand why it would bother you since no one is holding a gun to their head, and it's not something they really need. I charge as much as I think I can get away with, but that's just me.

We are at $1 and we also sell the Moonshine ones, different scents. Moonshine outsells probably 2-1 for us.

I did mean double - I must have been half asleep.

I guess it's just me, but I'm partly basing that on towel sales. I was vending cheap cloth towels for 50¢ and even though the profit was only about 15 cents each we were selling about two dozen a day. At $1 for 40 cents profit each for a much better towel there aren't a dozen sold a week.

My vending income is relatively low. I know it is additional income and a profit center but too me it didn't seem worth it. Right now at one wash that grosses around 200K, my vending revenue is around $200/month, that translates into roughly $100/net for maybe an hour's worth of work, so I guess I need to quit complaining.

Funny here, the local law enforcement call the little tree air fresheners "felony flags" It seems that a lot of folks they arrest on drug-related charges have a little tree hanging from the mirror, presumably to help hide the odor. Maybe that's why the strong ones, such as black ice, sell so well.

I sell mine for $1.25 in my 5 column vendor. We use quarters. I sell Black Ice 3 to 1 to any other fragrance including New Car. Go Up!
