Looking to install a ONYX contactless card reader by Nayax in a Hamilton HTK

Looking to install a ONYX contactless card reader by Nayax in a Hamilton HTK. Initially, I intended to install through the coin acceptor causing act if coins were deposited. The unit has an IDX X10 coin acceptor with 4 wires plus a white neutral. This is not a standard application, I called IDX and they are unable to provide information on how the X-10 is configured. Can anyone provide additional information on this application? Thanks, Brian

Did you ever get the Nayax ONYX contact less card reader to work with your wash Select II? The IDX X10 coin acceptor that is used in the Hamilton ACW’s is not the same X10 coin acceptor that is used in the coin boxes, the coin pulse rate is different and the controller is looking for those pulse rates. You need an interface between the controller and the credit card reader so when you push the button you’ll be charged that price. If you had a single price for all your wash packages it would be a simple istall.

Yes, I did get installed in the Select II. As stated the HTK is set-up different, its has a controller that processes the cards. . My plan was to have the card reader send a signal to the coin acceptor causing it to think coins were deposited. The Onyx process approves and processes the cards, all we have to do is sent a signal to the controller to represent the wash selected. The issue is what type of signal does the IDX x10 send to the controller.

Your only option for EMV or contactless is to install an Ingenico iUC285 from Hamilton. HTK will not recognize coin inputs like ACW's and Gold Line's for credit card purposes. I'd be careful continuing with this as it would also void any Hamilton warranty on components.

Hamilton did offer a contactless PayPass reader back in the day but it was problematic and hence discontinued from new production models.

I contacted Hamilton regards a contactless card reader a few weeks ago, they did not seem interested in pursuing the idea. Car wash purchases at my wash in Canada are 50% cash. 30% debit tap and 20% debit tap, debit tap at the HTK would be a big plus and probably increase the usage.
