Break an infamous 1999 Pontiac side mirror. Replace with new. Customer complains new mirror looks to good compared to her old one and demands I buy her another new one.

Should I tell her to keep coming back until we break the other one.

Take some undiluted alkaline cleaner and rub it all over the new one, it should oxidize it enough to make it match the old one.

Surely she would have been equally as upset had you pulled one from a salvage yard.

We always replace from the salvage yard. The one that broke was used so I replace with used.
