Medeco lock needs drilled out

Have a lock on one of my vacuums that none of my Medeco keys works in, looks like I need to drill it out and don't want to pay the locksmith $100.00 +. Could use some suggestions, pm me, thanks.
 
All the thieves in my area just drill with any random bit, break it off on the lock, leave the money in the vault, and leave the rest for me to figure out!
 
Sorry for reviving this thread, but i recently had a number of vaults drilled into.

I tried drilling to pull the lock sidebar out on one of the vaults but i can't locate it since all the metals melts together from the drilling heat.

Does anyone know what was Randy's method or any tips and tricks?

Alsoar.........I too have this problem............as u found out Randy doesn't reply............does anyone have an answer.....................a pm would be fine................Jim
