I am having my first General Meeting with the city, are there any questions out of the norm, that you think it would be in my best interest to ask about.

Thanks in advance

are you zoned for it? if you're explicitly allowed, not a long drawn out process. different municipalities in the metroplex have their biases of whether they want more car washes. also areas that are less affluent are welcoming of any type of commercial activity. ask about:

1. zoning.
2. how many feet do you have to be away from a residential neighborhood
3. who are the registered neighborhood assoc within 300 feet
4. will they allow you to use your que line for your parking equivalent

if you have to go thru the zoning board of adjustment or zoning commission, watch the archives online of what other people have done to get their approval.

Thank You so much. I have the General stuff covered between myself, the builder, equipment supplier. I just wanted to see if there were more wiered things I should inquire about from Operators with more experience. Thanks Again

You might want to be prepared on having a reclaim system.
How much water will be consumed per month and how this will effect the water city levels and sewer lines.
The amount of sound (decibles) coming from your blowers and vacs (installing vac motor system inside building instead of outside).
Is the sound being baffled at all so it does not affect your neighbors.
Traffic flow and how it affects the street traffic?

Generally speaking, when you go to a general planning and zoning meeting, it is the authority and review panel that does most of the asking.

Usually, there are several people on a panel who are qualified to apply architectural and urban design principles to achieve objectives in a proposed plan – site plan, buildings, architectural features, open space, landscaping and design objectives.

The panel reviews and makes recommendations and authority sets forth conditions of decision.

So, I would come prepared to answer questions about market opportunity, carwash industry and your ability to obtain project financing as well as your proposed carwash design.
