Mei bill acceptor

I have a mei 2412 bill acceptor that will take the dollar about 7/8 of the way in and then shut down. Try it in other bays and I get the same thing or a message disabled from mech/vmc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You've got a bad sensor board. Probably the lower board.

Ok, aeco has been through it and it functions fine for them.

Most Mars repair centers don’t know much about car wash equipment, it might work fine on their bench but not in the coin box. Check your switch settings, #1-2 should be On, #3 should be Off. Switch’s #4-5-6-7 should be On, #8 has to be in the Off position. Also try another bill box.

Usual settings on switches are 1,2,4,5,6 on 3,7,8 off. Thank you. What can the bill box have to do with it?

There's a clear plastic reflector or prism at the bottom of the bill box. If it's dirty or missing the validator will not work.

Check stacker box on a couple different bays does the same thing. Stacker works fine on other acceptor

If the bill acceptor shuts down with the red LED flashing 2 after rejecting a bill, the acceptor is bad. Most bay equipment doesn't have a way to shut the acceptor down.

How many times would you like me to tell you there is something WRONG with the validator. When was it last at AECO?

You never said that before. You said it either shuts down or you get a message disabled from mech/vmc. Since you've tried it in other bays and you get the same thing, this proves beyond any doubt that there is something wrong with the bill acceptor. Either AECO missed something or you got a bad one mixed up with a repaired one. There is nothing more anyone here can do for you.
