MEI Validator Issue

My MEI validator is rejecting all bills. I’ve cleaned the belt, sensor, white rolls, and bill cassette. It worked fine for a couple of weeks, but over the past two days, it’s been accepting only one bill before rejecting the rest. Today, it’s not accepting any bills at all.

It keeps flashing 4 red codes, which I believe indicates a cross-channel blockage, but I can’t see any visible obstruction. Could it be a bad motor, any other debugging steps?

My model number is AE 2612 U10. What would be an equivalent version in Talos if I need to get a new one?

Any help would be appreciated.

Your going to need to send your MEI validator in for repair. Trust me when I say this "You don't want to use a Talos validator"! They don't hold up in a car wash environment.

Nope I haven't found anything better than the MEI/Mars AE series validators. The Talos validator isn't designed for the car wash wet environment. My best advice would be to keep getting your AE series validators repaired.

Any word on how long they will make parts for them? Yesterday I saw that I also have the flashing 4 times code on one. What causes that issue?

I think parts will be available for a long time. Mars made a couple million of the AE series validators.

4 flashes is a cross channel blocked error. Remove the bill transport and look for any debris that could be in the bill path. If there isn’t any debris in the bill the path you could have a bad lower LED board.
