We are phasing out our touchpads with vandal resistant momentary push buttons with LEDs on the distribution board. In the testing process we notice that with the Dixmor LED7s we have an option for a 2 second delay which is nice for the customer. The problem with that option in the bay is that the customer might touch a button too quick & nothing will happen yet. In our PLC driven brand new dog wash the time will not start until a selection is made. That is ideal for making the customer happier & more likely to put in more money after the minimum is met.

Do any of you have any suggestions or am I overlooking a hidden feature within the Dixmor LED7s &/or other timers?

The delay in the timer is only to start the countdown after the last coin is deposited. Whatever is causing the delayed start when the button is pressed is not caused by the Dixmor.

workaround? improvisation?

Mep & others,

Keep in mind the push button selection is momentary so if it is pushed before the countdown starts there will be no response. After the countdown starts then the momentary is latched in via the distribution board. The issue they have to wait until the countdown also starts. On the Vacs that we just got done upgrading last week we notice the Dixmor LED5s delay also delays the actual startup ---- on our vacs there is no user switch so it doesn't matter in that situation----it starts both the countdown & the vac motors at the same time.

I have had rotary switches before I know that is an option but it is a little nicer for the customer to push button selections with the respective LEDs visually reassuring the customer the item is on. Especially if the distribution boards have proved to be 100% reliable & durable & an operator already has the distribution boards with spares.

This in not a big issue I just thought that someone a little more electronic savvy has devised a way to make it it so the customers could keep getting rid of their accumulated quarters way beyond the minimum without seeing their time counting down immediately after the minimum. An additional trigger would have to occur with a button push which is probably easier said than done.

I do understand your problem, I just didn't understand your question. The Dixmor doesn't have an option to start time once a selection is made; there's no input to do that. Perhaps you could use the same system from your dog wash to run your bays.
