Nayak Vs Monex Vs CryptoPay

Taking this one step further...

My client noticed that every credit transaction was billing even dollar amounts. This seemed odd because everybody doesn't stop their washing exactly at $5, $6, $7, etc.

Changing the Nayax programming solved that issue. I changed the settings under Pulse/ccTalk from 100/60 to 25/15. Now the transaction pricing on Count Up increments at 25c every 15 seconds instead of $1 every 60 seconds. (This client's car wash is priced at $3.00 to Start - $1.00 per Minute).

This location was also recently fitted with a Programmable Logic Relay to automate/mimic the touchscreen's STOP "button".

Big thanks to MEP001 for suggesting a simple wiring solution.
All unused contacts on the rotary switch's second stack are jumpered together to a single wire back to the equipment panel. The motor starter wires on the second stack are already in the equipment panel.
Those two 24vac hot wires connect to that bay's respective 2 inputs on the PLR.

When a customer selects OFF on the rotary switch, all 24v power to the 2 PLR inputs goes low (off).
This causes the PLR program to start it's 5 second countdown timer. The PLR's output then closes for 1 second, shorting the Nayax Door Open wire to Nayax Ground wire...Ending Charges.
Watch this clip for the "Auto Stop" solution. It's slicker than boiled okra!

I have 3 stacks on my rotary switches. The second stack does indeed run the motor starters but I guess I could tie the entire third row all together and only have one input on the PLR. Do you see a flaw in this approach?

Also do you ever experience customers starting the bay and leaving it in the stop position while say they pull out there car mats and then get minimum charged and have to start over? I suppose theres always something but maybe I would just extend the countdown to 10+ seconds.

Hi was wondering if we could discuss the pros and cons of each one. I currently have CryptoPay and the main issue is the number of card read issues causing customers to drive off and use another wash provider. I Have been looking into Nayak and Monexgroup. But would love to have feedback from owners that use each of these readers.

Curious who you went with? I have Monex readers but am frustrated with the count up end button functionality, I'm not interested in changing to count down, and so it's either continue with them with an external end button, or leave them all together and go with Nayax.

Nayax works great for me at both my locations. Sounds like theres a similar feature on Monex where you can wire in a stop button to end credit card charges but I dont do that I just use the on screen "Stop" button and theres also a red X in the bottom corner that does the same thing. One thing I do use is the outdoor covers. Its a clear cover that flips up to keep the device from getting water on the screen which in some cases ends the transaction.

If you make the jump to Nayax heres a discount code
Code: REVESTOR

Has anyone here used or is using Beacon mobile? Had a conversation with them today, and curious if anybody has thoughts. Also interested to know what added revenue it's brought to your car wash?

The Beacon monthly fee is at least 2x higher than all other mobile app providers I've chatted with.

I went through this a few months ago with Monex. I had tons of problems at first and even bought a Nayax for one of my bays

Skeptical, I wound up going to count-down and it was a wonderful surprise. Our CC revenue is still steadily going uphe button and $15 pre-auth charge complaints vanished with Monex.

That said, left my Nayax bay with count-up. I occasionally get someone who can’t get it to stop, but the Nayax user site makes it very easy to reimburse them. But I don’t like doing that…

hope this helps

Edited for mistakes. Was very tired when typing

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I'm in the same situation as you. Overall pretty happy with the Monex. A lot of troubles with customers figuring out how to end the transaction. Not possible to do a partial refund and NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to find the cc transaction to do a full refund.

I've tried going to countdown with prepaid amounts. I'm just nervous about making another change to credit card payments at my site and causing even more confusion\

One thing I noticed is with the Nayax if you go to $5 minimum charge their fees drop dramatically

We have found an external stop button necessary with count up. It has cut down our complaints and no issue if the screen is unresponsive. We add to all new count up installs and went back and installed on our old installs as well.

Don’t ever use Monex. They are the worst company I’ve ever dealt with in my whole time in Bussiness. There are lots of hidden fees and cancellation fees that were never discussed. After cancellation I’m at 1072$ in fees. Please do your homework and go with NAYAX!

Avoid at all costs right now. Their development team is a relic of what it once was. You are going to wait 18-24 months for a deployment.

I acquired Beacon on a site purchase where they were already using it. Support is basically non existent to make changes.

Thanks for sharing. This seems to be a consistent theme with other folks I've talked to.

I can second this. I switched to Nayax count up readers from Monex end of Feb. 2025. We're only 1.5 months in, but it's been a clear win-win (higher revenue/lower fees) so far. My fees are going to be more than 50% lower than they were with Monex.

Yes I know that is why I asked . Sounds like a good way to set these up . Only issue is getting people in tune with that higher start price
I'm in California (condolences appreciated).
Went to lunch with a buddy today at a "homestyle diner." Nothing fancy.
My order:
$4.59 for a glass of iced tea
$19.39 for a Western Burger and salad instead of fries.
$7.50 for a slice of pie

----------------------
$31.48 sub total
$2.75 sales tax (8.75%)

--------
$34.23 Total (plus tip) ......... And we're worried about a $5.00 start up?!
My attitude in California is if the people here vote for the politicians that create these conditions, then those same people can pay for it.

Hi Everyone.

Thank you for your kind words. I work with our Authorized Distributors and OEMs.

Nayax just released the Pulse Wizard and we will be showing at ICA in Las Vegas in our Booth 2870. It is the top of technology feature to make pulse setting changes a breeze for our Operators, or our Authorized Distributors/OEMs who support their Operators. To get a taste of it, see here and thank you Nathan Polatis for demoing it for us (
).

A tip after reading some of the comment here:
I am a big fan of count up as many of you are here. I am a bigger fan for VACs and Self Serves and Automatics (but only where your customers are not pressing the stop button and asking angrily for refunds), to use our Multi-Price with Bonus Minutes feature. An example on a VAC would be $2 2 Min; $4 5 Min; $6 8 Min; $8 11 Min) and for Self Serves / Automatics ($5 5 Min; $8 10 Min; $11 13 Min; $15 18 Min; $20 25 min). This eliminates the stop button issue for those that encounter refund customers, gets you an average higher ticket and makes the customer feel in charge with the feeling of Bonus Minutes.

Also, keep in mind, Nayax is one of VISA's top 20 Payment Facilitators in the world, receiving over 1.5 Billion transactions a year. That means our Operators are not paying Interchange Plus (variable rates and extra fees) as they are when using Worldpay or other processing companies. Nayax is all fixed and as someone mentioned above for a typical Car Wash charging $5 and over, it is a flat 2.5%+10 cents processing direct with Nayax as the Payment Facilitator.

If at ICA, please come on by and say Hi.

If not able to attend, please feel free to reach out to me anytime at my contact below for any questions or to help with any challenges..

Good luck in your businesses and remember my 2 key phrases I repeat over and over, "TECHNOLOGY MATTERS AND WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE 5+ YEARS FROM NOW" in all businesses and especially in Car Wash.

Thank you and have a great holiday weekend.

Harry
