Gonna attempt an uninstall /install of my old 3 bay & install 10 yr old GinSan the Ultimate 3 bay unit. It's sat in storage last 4 yrs (R O Unit, water softener etc).
What things should I be expecting to run into? New equipment looks to be exceptional. Should I buy new hoses, wires, etc...? I'm pretty nervous, but looking forward to having far less issues in near future.

I'd replace the media in the softener before installing it, probably wouldn't hurt to replace the RO membranes and charcoal as well. Everything else will be a matter of firing it up to see what might be wrong with it.

I did the same with a Jim Coleman 7 bay Super Saver stand that sat in a closed wash in Atlanta for 3 years. I did nothing but hook it up and get running. Not too many issues, resealed the cat 2120's replaced some of the regulators and needed 1 procon motor. Everything else has been fine. Unit was drained when wash was taken over by bank. But sat for several years unattended. We did all our own plumbing and wiring on our own, never closed wash. I enjoyed the process and feel we know way more about everything for future problems doing it on our own.

Prez, how did you not close the Wash? I have 3SS/1IBA, & am worried sick about being down for a week (in S.S.). What about cleaning out the old dried up soaps/chems, lines on back of Machi e that were cut, etc...

I had enough room for both racks and did 1 bay at a time. I put in a new electric service panel and had extra circuits to make things easier. It was very tight in the equip room, but worked welland kept things going. Having 7 bays is nice at times, except when adding new equipment gets expensive!!! I just put in 3 new hand bay blowers, I put them in my 3 busiest bays, and if they get enough use I will add more. When I put the new selector doors it was expensive, but now with about 6 months in use it was well the expense. Good luck with the install, hope all goes well for you.

My current S.S are 3 separate stands, but hooked up to 1 foam brush & 1 Pre-Soak. Can I keep them hooked up, while u installing, or am I gonna have to shut down? Seems like I'll be shut down...

I did it about 3 years ago. I got my equipment as ready as possible in my garage at home. When I got my installer lined up, I got in there and ripped out the old stuff the day before and paid them to get the new stuff up and running. I was down for four days.

Sooner, if you have room to squeeze the new rack into place, get everything plumbed in and wired then you can just switch over the control wires one bay at a time. You will need to make some temporary plumbing lines that you just plug when all is done. I had my new pump stand on dollys that I could move a couple feet to get around the tight quarters but once everything was hooked up I have more space, newer equip and learned a ton about my equipment doing everything myself. Feel free to reach out if you wanted to discuss.

Why would you be nervous? Just turn off the power, put cones in the bays and pull out all the old equipment and install the other equipment. How old is the equipment that you are taking out? What kind of issues are you having with the old equipment? We find that it’s not the age of the equipment, some of our equipment is over 30 years old, it’s how it’s been maintained. Even new equipment that’s been poorly maintained you’re going to have a lot of problems with it.

Nervous, cuz I'm a 23 yr coach, not a businessman. Not a mechanic, or mechanically inclined. Guy helping (read: doing) is an engineer & Jack of all trades. Nervous cuz wash underperforms as it is, & I don't wanna be down long.
Installed used LaserWash, & it's doing g great. I hope my new GinSan "The Ultimate " , does the same.

Ok, here's our issues now. The HP functions work great. The lp functions come one, usually, & then don't work. Not sure how we missed it/ or why, but....the lp tanks had a lot of flaky residual left in em. We didn't clean em out very good. I'm afraid those small pieces of trash are getting in our lines, making it to the solenoids, & clogging us up...?
If so, should we totally empty out the tanks, take lp lines off, & clean em all spic & span? Any more advice?

The Gin San you are putting in has a LOT of stuff on it that really doesn't need to be there. It is way overbuilt. I have taken buckets loads of parts off of these, and they seem the better for it.

You’ve got yourself a mess now. You’re going to have to disassemble all the low pressure solenoid valves and clean them out, disconnect all the hoses and flush them out with water, preferably hot water. About every 6 months or so we drain all of our tanks and use a green scrubby pad to scrub out the inside of the tank to remove any scum buildup. We also use a 80 mesh inline clear bowl strainer on the outlet of all our low pressure chemical tanks. Keep us posted

Dried up & flaky soap / chemicals in ever single place imaginable. Wth hard would it have been, to just drain it, & wash stuff out? Wouldn't take an hour or so, & would've helped the buyer immensely. Oh well, I've had to call distributor cor.some help. Wash is up & running, but can't get T-C \E-C working properly.

More issues.....
booster pump on R/O is bad. Can you not just buy the front (pump) part, or do you have the buy the entire set (electric motor & pump together)? Those things are costly!
