Need help on Old & Obsolete Multi Tron coin acceptor

It all depends on what coins/tokens you want to accept. The Slugbuster II EZ is a good 2 coin coin acceptor, the IDX MA-800 is a good 6 coin coin acceptor and the Micro-coin QL is good 12 coin coin acceptor.

GinSan repairs the MultiTron acceptors, but I wouldn't bother. They're not reliable.
I've never tried a MicroCoin, but everyone I know who uses them says they're great. I've installed and programmed some, and that's really easy.
Slugbuster is probably the least expensive and they're mostly reliable, but IMO they jam too easily. Slugbuster II's will take a $1 coin and only give a quarter credit, so if you don't want your customers getting ripped off and mad you'd be better off with the III.
I like the IDX MA800. Rarely have jams, very few problems with them, and when they do need a repair it's fast and cheap.

The last batch of IDXMA-800 I sent in it took them almost a month to get them back to me.

I wonder if anybody has noticed any difference between the IDX X20s that Jim Gosnell (Etowah Valley) sells & the IDX MA800s?
It seems like IDX also has an X10 but that is more for their proprietary more fail safe IDX X-Mark Tokens.
It seems like I read possibly on another forum that a Canadian operator was helped by upgrading to the 12 different coin IDX MA812s during the transition of Canada changing the metal signature of some same denomination coins. Below is a link to that specific acceptor.

Thank You for all the help from everyone, my wash is currently taken only quarters and dollar. I might go with either Slugbuster III or the IDX MA-800.

It seems like the IDX 20s work just as good for possibly less cost ... I am wondering if someone can share evidence as to if there is any relevant quality difference?

The IDX X20 is quite a bit more expensive than either the MA800 or the Slugbuster III.

You had me scared for a moment ... in the shuffle you might have mistaken the IDX X20 with the IDX X10. I remember having a one on one conversation with Mike Oliver of IDX back at a Heartland Car Wash Assn Event when I was gungho about going to credit card to tokens. He let me know up front that we would be "on our own" with potential token counterfeits unless we went with both the X10s & the X10 tokens.

Both affordability & suitability is important to us as well as others ... especially if & when we finally finish our "leap of faith" laundromat washing machine update to car wash long drops with the help of affordable 3D printing etc Possibly over 30 of whatever brand &/or model of car wash long drops will be needed at that point.
