I need to brighten up my wash with stronger LED lighting. The bays are fine; I need brighter lighting in the areas covered by asphalt.

Do you have any light fixture or brand suggestions? This one is expensive, but it can be modulated as to how bright it is, and it comes with an optional hood so I could reduce light spillage onto neighbor properties. It would be the primary fixture, over the vacs and a large parking lot area. I'd supplement it with other (less powerful, less wattage) lights in other areas.

Any suggestions on what you have found to be good fixtures or good approaches would be appreciated.

We have been very happy with Hyperikon LED lights. We have them in all the ss bays and iba as wallpacks, but also as pole lights over our vac islands. They are super bright. They are designed in California and made in China. So is my Iphone and I am very happy with it. I asked my electrician who wired them if he saw a quality difference between them and other wallpacks/pole lights and he stated that he did not. They have been running flawlessly for one year now. They are inexpensive and can be ordered on amazon.

I agree Hyperikon are great! I have had great success with the products and their customer service is great when you do have an occasional issue. Have spent thousands with them for car wash applications and other commercial lighting.

The below linked layout tool helped us work with the various specifications from LED light. Distance & coverage are relevant besides the quality Cree or other LEDs.

When I go to the hyperikon web site I get a security warning in my browser. :(

Do they offer vapor tight versions for wet locations, and which models did you use in the bays?

These are the two styles that we used. We used the wallpacks in all the bays including the iba. They have a rubber gasket in them and are vapor tight.

I use this fixture in 70w 5000k in my bays. 4 per ss bay and 6 per auto bay.

I've seen these used in a couple of washes, and they're more than sufficiently bright with just two per bay (These are not Hyperikon brand but their specs are identical):

I bought a couple of these and tried them, and they're brighter, lower wattage, and spread the light much better (The ones above have a really bright spot directly below and several bands of light on the wall near them):

I did $6k worth of new LEDs at our 2 sites. I got the LEDs that Randy suggested. Couldn't be happier & they were very inexpensive! I had previously tried to cheap Chinese brands. Both conked out within 90 fats!

Thank you for all of the suggestions. Things have changed-- there are so many LED fixtures to choose from that making a decision is difficult.

Hearing the feedback from users who have installed these various fixtures is very helpful.

I have installed several Cree brand parking lot lights, as well as several Cree brand canopy fixtures in the bays. Very nice, and have a 10 year warranty. Most of the Cree fixtures came from Sunbelt Car Wash Services http://sunbeltcws.com/lighting/ Also, I converted several metal halide wall pack fixtures (fixtures and lenses were in excellent shape) to LED with the retrofit kits from Mile High LED Systems http://milehighledsystems.com/ Very pleased with all of these lights.
