I thought I saw that someone posted recently that JCC came out with a replacement motor for their oscillating motors. I searched but could not find the thread. My boom arm oscillating motor went bad today and I need to replace it. It is a Baldor 55236-1 which I believe is a proprietary motor made for Coleman. If someone has the replacement motor number (or can find the thread) I would appreciate a heads up. Oh, and by the way. I decided that JCC makes the biggest piece of crap IBA ever made. I finally saw the light after 8 years in this business. The engineers (they probably don't have any) give you about 1" to get your hands and a rachet wrench into the area the motor mounts not to mention every other god forsaken design flaw that their equipment has. Never, I repeat, never buy a JCC IBA. While business has been good over the years, I bet my repair experience would have been a lot better with some other Mfg's. OK, done venting!

PS. I know they don't care about negative feedback from customer's because that would be too smart. I imagine a bunch of Texan's standing around with big cigars saying "yes, just weld that stainless plate their because that motor will never go bad and they will never need to take those nuts off that motor, ha, ha, ha" Don't even get me started about trying to replace the hoses for the rocker blasters.

Why can't you edit your own thread on this site? I spelled "there" wrong in my PS and can't edit it! Venting again, I guess. Just saying!

A couple of the sub-forums are missing that setup.

That was the motor. Already gone though! The WW 1.0 does a great job cleaning the car but is a real pain to work on. I am convinced that if I had made better decisions in my equipment purchases back when I started that my car wash business life would have a lot less hassles. This should not curtail you from buying a wash that has these machines installed. After all, you are really buying cash flow and customer's not 7-10 year old IBA equipment. Depending on how busy you are you should plan on swapping these motors out about every two years. Dryer motors about every three years. Drive motors about every two to three years. The way they designed the machines makes all of these jobs take way longer than they should including hose changes. After looking closer at other manufacturers, I am convinced that many other equipment choices would make my life a lot easier in this business. The JCC super saver is pretty much problem free. Of course, I think I could've done a lot worse than JCC as well.

I actually am the one that won the auction. I will ask the seller if he has more than one motor for sale. Are you interesting it buying one for this price? I also bought these Turck proximity sensors. Do you want to buy these for $100 for two also? I know the seller has more proximity sensor for sale because noone bid on four proximity sensors for $220.

I probably have replaced 8 of these in 8 years. Usually an end of trac prox or a treadle prox. Good to have a couple spares. I only exchange them when they go bad.

FYI editing is set for 5-15 minutes that you can edit your post, this is to prevent spammers from posting an except-able post, then editing it with spam.

Not on this sub-forum, and IIRC the dog wash one. There is no "Edit Reply" button at all after you post a message.

Problems

Sorry for your frustrations and I know exactly how you feel. I had to replace that motor once in seven years and a ratcheting box wrench is the way to go but it took some frustration to figure that out.

All in all ive had good luck with my WW 1.0. I have had to replace each drive motor once. The problems I have the most of are not the prox sensors but the Telco eyes. Those damn things are so expensive to replace and to keep extras around but you have to.

Seems like its always the weekend :)

Ive just added a Sonnys IV to complement my WW and it has its own set of problems

Some people thing car washing is all about the money buts its hard freaking work sometimes. You definately wont make any money paying your distributor to fix everything for you either. You have to find a balance and after a few years I think I have. Having my best year ever but its still always something!

Just saying!

Thanks all, frustrating night at the wash when I first posted. I was using a ratchet box wrench but maybe it was a cheap one and would not ratchet. Nuts were too loose for the wrench and too tight for my finger tips. Thanks Vinh for the heads up on the ebay seller I was able to order two motors from him and also ordered one from texascarwashsupply.com who is great find. I will order my next drive motor from them as well. Wash was swamped today and I am crossing my fingers that I don't lose another motor before my spares arrive. What's funny is that I had two customer's tell me today that my equipment does a better job than anyone else's in town. Makes me scratch my head because upgrade will be coming soon.

I am thinking of buying a two bay water wizard 1.0 and 5 bay JCC supersaver. Do you really hate JCC IBA that much? Maybe I will reconsider buying it. How often does the equipment fail on the wizard? It seems to clean a car well.

http://www.texascarwashsupply.com has most of coleman product.
I have 2 WW2.0's and agree that they are difficult to work on. But there is a lot of equipment that needs to be packed into that gantry. Overall they are, IMO, very reliable. They do a good job of cleaning cars. After replacing some items you learn how to do it easier. I have never replaced a drive motor in 6 years, but have had them off twice due to flood warnings (I jack the gantry up so I have room to get a ratchet under them). 2 out of 6 blower motors. Oscillating motors the gearbox goes bad now and then. Drive wheels ocasionally. A good preventive maintenance program helps too. SS equipment virtually never breaks down.

I have about 5 bad oscillating motors sitting in a milk carton. I want to throw them away. Any use for anyone? I might be able to make one good one out of the five. But will ship the others to whoever wants them for repair if they pay for shipping.
