Mac,
If you are a Comcast customer you can obtain an
Apple iPhone SE for free from
Xfinity Mobile.
When I travelled the country for work, AT&T provided nationwide coverage at a reasonable(?) price...the company paid the bill.
After retirement, I discovered I was paying through the nose for coverage/service I rarely needed.
My "by-the-gig" pricing with Xfinity Mobile is almost always $16.85/month. But, I do connect to wi-fi most everywhere I go now...so my mobile data usage is very low. An out-of-town trip cost me $35 in data earlier this year...mainly due to the fact that I used my iPhone 10's GPS to find my way to unfamiliar destinations.
BTW...Xfinity Mobile is on the Verizon network so nationwide cell service is just fine for my needs.
