New Self Serve Equipment

Hello Everyone,

We are in the process of upgrading the self serve equipment in our newly bought carwash. The current equipment is ages old and is barely functional. Can someone please advise what are best brands available in the market for the self serve car wash equipment and how much would it roughly costs ?

I have been looking for good used as equipment for 6 months now. The stuff I see is scrap. Try finding a good used stack system if you find one let me know will give you 20 bucks.
 
Earl I understand your post. What I am saying is the junk I find. Single pump per stand and usually on a painted steel stand with no belt guards. Control panels that look like they were built by a high school science class. I would love to find a 26 year old stack unit by Magic Wand. The good stuff does almost last forever.

Agreed. I visited the location we used to own where you installed all magic wand SS equipment back in 2000. Still there and looked good.
 
I bought a used Jim Coleman pump stand and refurbished it. Cost me 20% the cost of a new setup and it works great. Took a while to find one though.

OK, I’ll take a little credit for a nice install, and thanks for the compliment. That stuff will still be going 20 years from now.

TJ, When you say ages old what do you mean? My equipment was built in 1982 and it’s still running strong today. Self-serve equipment will last forever if it’s maintained properly. Before I bought any new or used equipment I’d take a long hard look at what I’ve got now and see if I can rebuilt it. One of the biggest problems I’ve seen is you get to many unqualified people working on equipment and they make a bigger mess out of it then what it was before they got into it. In other words the work standard is pretty low. What kind of equipment do you have now?

Mac I saw a magic wand system in Missouri approx 6 months ago in great condition in ebay. They were asking $6K for it and it ended up selling for $1500. I went back and forth on it bc I have JC at my other 2 locations and wanted to standardize for the 3rd location. Anyway I'll keep a look out
 
If it ends with "Pride" it's good equipment if it's not been hacked up. Is Legendary equipment in this industry for long term reliability

I do really like my carolina pride pump stand. Easy to work on. But for space and ease of a new install the jim coleman super savers were nice. However, I cuss when I have to work on the spot free rinse and some other systems. I still have one available, but it needs a little work


As far as new units, etowah valley makes the most economical I think. Their budget line is no frills and half the price of some other mfgs.
 
There is a listing on Facebook marketplace for a bunch of Southern Pride equipment in Huntington IN.
