New technology advice on Surveillance Cameras

The specific Lock boxes for NVR / DVR I found seemed to be a joke. Perhaps a decent safe if you could drill / cut a coupe of holes for cables to go thru ad a ventilation fan.

With some NVRs (maybe most/all I’m not sure) you can add a second unit for redundancy in recording. You can just do that and put it in a different spot or hide it…they aren’t going trace wires and look for a second one. You can go very light on the storage space since the second one only needs a few days of recording

Only by accident I left the old NVR plunged in and on the desk.
I had the new one on the floor behind the desk.
When we got broken into they took the old and didn’t see the new one.
Police caught them a couple weeks later.
Dumb luck on my part, lol.

I'd recommend this. You can put the dvr somewhere else. I have 2 offices. One has the changers and such in them. The other has chemicals and mechanical. I'm going to put the dvr in there and this in the cash room

HDMI KVM USB Extender Transmit 1080p HD Video Over Cat5e/6 Ethernet Cable 50m (164ft) for Mouse and Keyboard Control Remote Signals https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08K2MX...abc_6FEKP228TPC0YPAVQMQG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Another trick IMHO is to use a 24VAC->12V->USB converter process ... it might save some wiring. As I add more Wyze Cam V3s I plan on doing that for some with existing dormant 24VAC wiring.

Great thread! But there are so many opposing opinions. LOL
I have owned my wash for one month now. It came with Unifi Protect system. It has decent night vision but its only and eight channel. I want to add more cameras and do and upgrade in video quality. I did have to replace one camera 2 weeks ago thankfully there was an extra camera there.
So If I am following correctly it seems maybe Lorex????

Do you have these? This sounds like a bargain but are they quality long lasting cameras for our business?
I'm going to check their website.

No not yet but am thinking about either the 12 or 16 cameras.
I had a customer that told me he has them and likes them. I think he has them at some warehouses.
He said you can get them from 8 to 36 cameras but I’m not sure.
