Is there a fuse or internal breaker for the heating element. I know older models have something like that to prevent over heating or shorting.

Do you have power getting to the heater? I have seen the switch fail on my extractors before.

Yes we had power to the heater. We checked with ohm meter, cleaned all connections and cleaned out the inner water lines and got it working properly; new heater NOT needed.

Thanks everyone.

Extractor heaters have thermostats on the end of the inline heater.

It may have simply tripped in which cause you push it in and you may have heat again.

If you get no heat then the thermostats can be bad and you just replace not too expensive.
