Has anyone put in outside driers that weren't right next to the exit? My goal would to be able to dry and wash a car at the same time but I don't want to spend the money to lengthen my bay that much and I want to be able to process more cars since I'll be going from a 4/2 to a 4/1 with this upgrade.

My driers are free standing currently so I could move them further from the building, just not sure what the customer experience would be like and I don't want people smashing into them.

I don't understand why people put them inside the building. That leaves you with possible drippage from the door opening after the car has traveled through the dryer. I have only one stand-alone dryer, which is outside. I wouldn't do it any other way.

My bay is currently only 25' long and the dryer is bolted to the ground directly outside the bay. I'm going to have to add on to the bay to fit the rails for the Razor in there. I plan to add on about 8' to the front of the building but I still don't think that'll give me a long enough bay to wash and dry cars at the same time (but correct me if I'm wrong).

How far should the dryers be from the rails to achieve what I want to do? I guess my concern was if I need to move my dryers 10' from the outside wall people might have a hard time navigating under them.

I.B. - could you describe the unit, maybe a picture or two? I was thinking about an outside dryer but......

Here's a picture of the dryer outside after 10 years.

Here's a picture of the control panel after being in the bay for 10 years. You tell me the best location. Keep in mind that this bay houses a friction wash, not a touchless with harsher chemicals. I can't believe a company like Peco would put out a steel enclosure, knowing that it would be in a car wash. What a piece of garbage.

I.B.W., it seems counter intelligent, but....looks obvious to me, that youd want your dryers outside the bay (& your control panel to be plastic or S.S.)! IF you think about it for s lil bit, the rain isn't harsh at all vs. IBA chems!

Also, how many feet outside your bay, are those dryers located? Mine are free standing dryers, just inside the bay yet about 2 feet past the IBA (when docked) & I constantly have to tell folks to pull forward for the dryers...

My future bay is quite small at 34 feet long and I am trying to fit a profile max in it which has 34 feet rails and via website says bay should be minimum 37ft 4inched in length but after talking to my distributor he said they can modify it to fit in my bay and that they have done it before. my question is for the dryers do you think mounting the dryers to the exterior wall would work/give it a cleaner look?

It will work, not the best look in my opinion, but it works a lot of older washes with small bays have them

Yes. I am putting all my dryers outside the bay on all future machines so chemicals and water do not eat them up and make them look bad so fast.
