Paraplate BR-5

I have a couple Paraplate BR-5's that seem to be leaking water out the weep hole. Neither are that old. Is there anything I can try before I replace them such as maybe making an adjustment to the pressure? Seems ironic both would be doing this. Anyhow, just reaching out to see if others have had similar issue and if there is something I could try before I replace. Do people have any luck rebuilding them? Thanks

Just rebuild, it's cheap and easy. As long as the plates inside are not rusted out, works perfectly with a rebuild.

They are rebuildable with an inexpensive kit. It seems like they may have been made better in past years as they do not seem to last long anymore. They are chrome plated brass and after a while, the chrome flakes off on the inside bore, and then the o-rings do not last long at all. Because of this and the high cost of them we have switched to the SMC 5550090. The jury is still out on them though.

We have been doing the exact same thing because of the same reason you stated. Quality doesn't seem as good. We had replaced some the looked original to the wash, and a year later some of the new ones were leaking.

Mine don’t lost 6 months. Crap quality. But I’m glad I found the rebuild kit in this forum! I’m definitely going to keep a few on hand for the next time this happens, because it definitely will.

That's what we have been using for years. I wouldn't recommend anything else.

That little hidden o ring on the end of the stem seems to usually be the culprit for me when leaking.

Hope you guys are wrong about quality going downhill because I just bought the BR-10 for my spot free pump pump and they ain't cheap.
