Partial arch rotate on laser 4000

Hello
new one here
arch did a partial rotate only going about 45* instead of the full 90
it was really cold today
after reset worked fine for 50+ cars
never had one partially rotate usually it just helicopters
anyways just curious why i made a half turn?

After the Arch turned 45 degrees did it continue washing the car or did it give an arch rotate fail and stop?

The helicoptering is usually caused by the Arch rotate eyes not reading the cam. Causes can be a scratch or rub on either x15, x16, or x17. This can happen if there is a lot of play in the gearbox or if the trolley tires are flat. Both will allow the index cam to make contact with the eyes during the high pressure.

Another cause is a cross read on the green festoon cable. The constant motion of the festoon cables can lead to fatigue that causes the wires to break or the wire insulation to fail. Both will cause intermittent issues since the wash usually has to be in a specific location for the problem to occur.

Found it while i was rotating the arch last night after wash down i hear the sound of a wire cracking from grounding.
The green festune black wire was exposed from the black sheething scraped back by the festune clamp
needles to say it was grounding on the festune clamp
little liquid tape and roll of tape
i also taped the clamp so that the metal was not so sharp
and were a off.
Waite till is warmer and change the festune cables
wondering if this is why is was blowing that 5amp fuse????????
Thnks for the help

Wanted to throw in the upper bearing above the gear box as another cause of this issue.
Same effect as the gear box play mentioned in prior post.
Glad you're up and running!
