Hello Everyone,

I have two issues that are driving me crazy... I believe both problems are from the ultrasonic sensor, but I am having a hard time pinpointing the issue.

1. When the entrance door opens... the under-body/gatling guns turn on before the car reaches it.

2. When a vehicle is being soaped or washed the bridge goes to the end of the track (the wash thinks the vehicle is larger then it is). I have tested the ultrasonic sensors in the bridge, and they seem to be working fine. Do you have any tips or ideas what I should check?

Due to the age of the machine... I found it difficult to find a service company that can help. Currently, there are 88,000 washes on the machine, and everything else runs fine, and we have been maintaining the machine weekly.

Thank you,

I do not have a M5 but I have a 4000 and have had the same issue. The under-body coming on is the sensor usually the transmitter or it is the amplifier. Over the past 12 years it was mostly the sensor. As for the bridge going to far back I found it to be the same. Either it is the sensor that measures the back of the car or the amplifier. For both of these problems I first switch out the amplifiers and if the problem continues I then replace the sensor. Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the help. When you see amplifiers... In the parts catalogue.. I found three amplifiers.. Is it the Photo-eye amp?

Thanks,

Yes it is the photo eye amplifier. I don't like doing this but this is what others said you can do. Take the amplifier for the eye you that controls the problem you are having and switch it out with another amplifier and if the problem moves to where you moved the amplifier then it is the amplifier if you still have the same problem then it is the sensor.

Find out what amp is running the eye then look at number on the amp and order that one.

Hi,

Not to sound like a fool.. But I looked all over the place for the photo eye amplifier and I cannot find it. I know what it looks like but I cannot find it. From the Layout from PDQ we should have one. Do you have any tips?

No sorry I am only going with what I know what happened to me on my 4000. Can you call PDQ tell them the problem they should give you some help. I call them and they do help at times. I just had the problem, my undercarriage would turn on as soon as the wash was paid for. I replaced my amp. and it seem to fix it for only a week then it started again so I change my one transmitting eye. Again it went away for a week or two then started again so I replaced my other eye, the receiver, and it has gone away for a week now. I think it was the receiver time will tell. This is pretty much the process for everything, change this if it is not this then it could also be this or this???? Sometimes it is the first thing you replace most of the time for me it isn't and I end up with used parts. Let me know how it goes.

Hi,

From what I understand. The M5 doesnt have a photo eye. I am going to check the connection and circuit board. Thank you for the tips. I need to replace a few things before I get a ultrasonic sensor. I will keep you posted.

Thanks,

Simon
