The method of securing the hose to the machine that the previous owner of my car wash used doesn't work very well and hose is continually getting pulled out of the fragrance machine, making it harder to get back in the next time around and sometimes kinking the little 1/8 tubes.

I asked fragramatics to send me the screws intended for the nut that is welded in my machine and they sent me the set screws that you see in the gun on the nut there. Is the nut in my machine not factory? Anyone have any advice on keeping that hose in there?

Take a grinder and shave enough off the black hose so it will still be tight in the hole but will extend past the nut and then put a hose clamp on it.

They have the worst design for securing the hose. That looks correct, but its not the updated one. The updated on swivels. But it is harder than hell to get on. Ive tried and tried and cut my hands up getting those hoses started. I agree that once you get it in there put atleast 1 if not 2 hose clamps.

I've never had any trouble with the Fragramatics hose staying in, but you need to screw it in at least an inch past the end of the hose that's been skived. The screws that it came with plus a hose clamp tight against the nut should be more than enough to keep it from getting pulled out again. The original screws are just there to keep someone from unscrewing the hose out of the machine.

We recently replaced the original hoses on our fragrance machine. As others have suggested, the outer hose comes through the fixing point, and then a hose clamp is fixed around the outer hose to prevent it being pulled through. Very happy that it made a good secure connection with our setup.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll give @JCM method of modifying the hose a try. The hose they sent me barely would make it to the top of the nut with how little rubber has been removed from that hose.

There's no question it's a stupid design. I had the same problem. I secured the hose with a heavy duty zip tie to the foot post. On my Shampoo machine, I knocked off the nut and put a hose connector on the hose. I then used a coupler inside the cabinet to attach onto the connector to secure it. It's easy for the guy at the factory with the machine laying on a work bench, but it's a b#$%@ to try and do it when the machine is upright. Manufactures never think about ease of replacement.

Don't remove too much rubber. That's what holds it in. It's really tough to screw it in far enough that it can't be pulled out, but it can be done.
