I have a two bay SS wash with a U-Drail (slot drain) in each that drains into a 3'x'3 main pit then to the oil separator pit also 3'x3'. Currently I shovel the pits into pails and then dump into a dump trailer parked out side the wash (too much work to hook up and pull in each cleaning). What do other people do who manually clean their pits. A sump truck would not be economical as the pits could need cleaning every other day during busy times.

I used to run a 6-bay with small pits, about 2.5 x 2.5' barely 2' deep. Once a week I'd shovel one clean to the bottom and leave the mud on the bay floor to dry, and the next evening I'd pick that up and put it in the dumpster. It's legal too.
