Does anybody have any thoughts on nets? We have steel covers now but they are getting worn.

I'd check with OSHA and see if they meet requirements first.

The big advantage of steel covers is that they can be walked on. We just had a welder make some from angle and expanded steel.

My advice is to not let your employees walk on the steel covers. They end up getting bent and the expanded mesh steel gets stretched and catches when you try to slide them. This is the whole reason ours are worn. We have had to weld the ends of the expanded steel back to the frame multiple times.

The guy who made them really knew how to weld and they never broke loose.

How wide are your pits? We use PT 2x8's up to 32" wide. There's obviously going to be more daily bay maintenance, but pits don't fill as fast.

Fast-lube pits, not car wash pits.
