When it comes to self serve, the weather is the biggest impact on business regardless of what's going on in the world.

That is a question that is hard to answer because there are so many other factors to consider relative to business increase or decrease. In the middle of March 2020 our business dropped to almost nothing for a few weeks. Then it very slowly picked up and by the end of the year we slightly surpassed 2019's revenue. This year we are bonkers busy compared to previous years. Could be double by the end of the year. The plandemic may have played into that in a round about way but I doubt directly. It's complicated.

Having to temporarily close obviously impacted business, but fortunately, we were open for most of the time during the pandemic and did not see much waver from the usual ups and downs caused by seasonal and weather trends. This was not a year where we upgraded any equipment or menu offerings, so that variable remained constant.
I put negatively. Maryland has us shut down for six weeks. Things have been since, but I don't believe it has to do with COVID. I believe it has to do with what has been a great weather pattern that has enabled pollen and salt to do their thing.

I'm in a super low income area and I surpassed 2019s revenue by about 60% in 2020, so I don't really think it affected me much. Since there are so many variables it's impossible to tell. I installed a new WW Razor Edge in the beginning of 2019 so that likely explains the increase as it started gaining traction toward the end of 2019, but maybe it would have been higher if COVID never happened? Sales are up significantly this year over last year as well, but the winter weather this year was almost perfect.
I never closed and I was one of the only car washes that kept the vacuums open in my area.
All those stimulus checks may have helped.

Our Covid impact was business up 40% over 2019. But I'm thinking it was because of our upgrades and great customer service we've been killing our base with. Who knows... We will take it....

2020 had a 30% bump over 2019 and 2021 is holding up too. The weather patterns weren't much different year to year. I was never forced to close.
I think covid was the main reason for this increase. Many of our customers are service workers like wait staff and cleaning staff. They were furloughed but kept getting paid by PPP and other government programs and didn't have to go to work. With time to kill and money in their pocket, washing their cars made for a good pastime.
Nebraska is ending their participation in the $300 per week federal unemployment benefit, so things may settle down. We'll see.

It appears that Covid-19 had little overall impact on our wash. What we do notice at the moment is the MUD! We have had lots and lots of rain recently, which translates to lots of mud.
