How much electricity does a soda maching use? Mine only grosses about $150 a year, I'm thinking about yanking it. No contract with Pepsi, I fill it myself so that helps.

SW Indiana melon fields.
PaulLovesJamie metered his some time back and figured it cost about a buck a day in electricity. Knowing him, I would think his #s are "spot on". Bottom line is, soft drinks are not much of a money maker, if any at all. Just decide yourself if you want to have it there for customer convenience. In your case, I would give it the "heave ho".

If you think the soda sales are keeping the customers around longer, you might keep it for that reason. I agree, soda sales are rarely great and at best only cover the electricity and labor.

I love my pop machine. Yes, it uses some electricity, but the neighborhood kids buy them nonstop. At $.75 each and a cost of $.25 each, how can you not make money?

I booted Pepsi when they went up to $1.25 on the 20 oz bottles and then 2 months later told me they could no longer give me the 20% rebate for the electricity which was only $15 to $25 a month anyway. Then I bought a good used can machine with 8 selections. I sell my sodas for $.60 as a customer and employee convenience. I think it reflects on us trying to give the customer the best value for the buck. We also hooked a air hose to the compressor and give free air to show we care about our customers safety, and in reality the air machines I have seen were more trouble then they were worth for the money and did a lousy job of airing up tires. I am in the carwash business and I charge well for our SS, Auto, Vacs, Fragrance,
Shampoo and carcare vending. The air and sodas are a loss leader for the customers convenience and safety.
