Possible to get an email or text if changer is down?

It would be nice to get an alert if a change machine goes out of order (service light comes on). Since the service light is powered by a signal wire I am sure it’s possible to connect it to some sort of device that could then send me an alert. Anyone done this? Appreciate any ideas.

I haven't done it but I would think you could do this simply with a yolink device and their outdoor contact with the wires cut off and connected to a relay wired to the changer circuit light. Total cost would be less than $100

One time when I was dealing with stringers I put a wyze camera in the back of a dual American changer. I could see the coin levels and the validator lights. I could monitor the level of change in the hoppers as well as see if the validators went out of service

I get a phone call from my changer if it goes down.

I have a set up that sends a signal to a device that calls me.
if power goes out it calls me
Which is most helpful cause that means I need to check other stuff asap
If it gets jammed - it calls me etc etc

Hamilton makes a relay kit that connects to your out of service light. It’s part number 47-0155A, it’s plug and play. You can build one yourself with a OMRON G2R-1-SN(S) AC110V relay. If you go that route you need to be extremely careful as there is power to the out of service light all the time. When the bill changer goes out of service the controller drops the common to ground and the light comes on. You could tie the out of service light into one of the devices from Yolink https://shop.yosmart.com/

If your using a credit card reader on the front of your Bill changer it’s a gpod idea to put a relay on the out of service light to turn off the power to the credit card reader if the bill changer goes out of service

You'll need a hub at the site too. If you buy another "speaker hub" for your home or office it can announce something like "right changer out of service at the main street wash" It can also can send you a push notification to your phone and nag you until it's fixed if you like. I'm using their other devices with good success too.

No, the Hamilton kit won’t work with a Rowe changer. Your going to have to find out what the voltage is on the Rowe Out of Service light and install a relay with the correct coil voltage to turn On whatever you want to control.

I use Blinks as well... But it doesn't alert you when the changer goes down does it? Do you just randomly look at the camera to see if the red light is on?

Pretty much. After almost a year, I have built up some reflexes that when I dont hear the blink beep for a long time, I know something is up. I also check once or twice a day to see if both change machines were used or not.

I have the same dialer! The previous owner put it in before I bought the place 20 years ago.
Still going strong with his voice.

This seems great for my washes! Maybe this is a dumb question… but Is the relay a separate device? If so… Could you link to the relay you use? Thanks!

Don't know all changers but you would need a small single pole relay that has a operating voltage the same as your light. When the changer powers the light it would also power the relay, which would close the contacts on the sensor and then the yolink app would send you a push notification that your changer is down. If your changer is a Hamilton I'd be tempted to buy the factory kit from Randy- that's a reasonable price and I assume it's plug and play.

You'll also need a hub at the car wash to connect to the sensor. You can install another Speaker hub at your home or office and it will speak to you and say "left carwash changer is out of service" or similar if you like. All these devices that yolink sells range from 25-35 dollars and are pretty handy. You can also connect that relay above to pressure switches on your air and float switches on your tanks, etc.
