I am curious what other washes in different cities pay in property tax.

My car wash in Seattle WA is on a 14,222 sq foot lot.

According to assessor land value = $1,991,000. Improvement value $1,000 (was $70k last year).

2018 tax $20,661.08 So $1.45 a foot

In Washington we don't have income tax but high sales tax and property taxes.

What about other places?

I'm at about $12,000 for property taxes on a 40,000 lot in Western Colorado.

Our income tax here is a flat 4.63%

Should not compare based on Tax$/SF, compare based on % of value. You are paying about 1% of assessed value which is very good for a major city location. MD is the same 1% of assessed value although a few counties may be 1.1% since the county might add a small tax. In a major city area you should be happy with 1%. Real question to ask is if assessment is accurate based on other commercial property assessments on your street. I check the state db for the local area about once a year to see if I need to petition for a change to the assessment - done once successfully.

Around here we are 3%, give or take a few tenths dependent on which city in the county you are in. If you are in a MUD, then its another point or so. I wish it was 1%.

I have a 4 & 2 on a 20,000 SF lot. Taxes are $936 per year. My 3 & 1 on an acre by Walmart is $2054. We do have a 6% corporate income tax and a 5% income tax on individuals. People here think we have high property taxes. LOL.

3 ss bays and 2 autos on acre of ground- property tax runs around $7000 per year. 6% sales tax but does not apply to car wash sales since they are considered labor and labor is not taxed in Idaho.c

I just got mine lowered to $6k, it's a 4/2, maybe 4000 sqft with 30000 sq ft of land. It was around $15k a few years ago.
