Pump Chatter

I had been experiencing a problem with one of my self-serve pumps chattering. after about a week or so of checking things and cleaning the valves of the pump a couple of times I shut the bay down and removed the inlet plumbing at the urging of a friend. The pipe coming into the pump was almost fully obstructed. Once I cleaned all the plumbing and reassembled it worked great again.

I'm not sure. 17 years worth of gunk???

It crumbled easily and the pipe was clean after 20 min of soak time in hot water and green dawn.

Maybe this is related to your issue, I've found that brass fittings imported from China built up debris faster than higher quality brass from an American manufacture.
