Anyone ever try a 5cp pump with a baldor 3 hp? We have 5hp now but i came across a good deal on a couple 3hp.

Yes, I run some 5cps at a site now on 3hp Baldor's

I think the Cat pump specs sheet for each model has a horsepower calculation chart. You can also calculate pulley size to get desired RPM for the pressure and volume you want to run.

yes, we have 3 bays on original 20 year old 3 hp motors with 5cp pumps. works fine.

Not uncommon at all. I had one wash with that set-up...worked fine.
