I'd recommend multi-coin acceptors as replacements when needed, then over time you can get them all replaced and accept tokens, quarters and dollar coins in all your equipment, but I wouldn't recommend Multitrons. They're the most expensive and least reliable.

I'm not familiar with Standard changers to know if you can add a coin acceptor easily, but I'm sure one way or another it can be done, and it should be cheaper than 14 new coin acceptors.

I built my own changer using a validator, PLC and a hopper. I still have a hopper (quarter size) and a PLC. I would think that any acceptor would take the quarters, send the signal to the PLC, when the correct amount is inserted, the hopper kicks out the tokens.
