Bought wash 7 mos ago, former owners were pretty easy to deal with. Til now. They asked if I had their sign taken down, & they paid half would Inlet them have it. I reluctantly said yes. They have been quick to reply about any questions i have had, about the new wash. Til now.
I paid $1400+ to have the sign taken down. Had to rent a crane , get a rigger & crew. BIG nice sign, & get this it's all NEON. Bad A$$ looking sign, about 3x22!
Now, they won't return a call, voice mail or text. It's obvious they don't want it. They tried telling me new this is a $15,000 sign!
How would you guys go about selling this sign? I just want my $1500 back & Im fine.

Is it a "CAR WASH" sign or is it branded in some way?

To protect yourself, I would look through all your paperwork on the sale to make sure there isn't a clause hidden that says the sign is to remain their property. If there isn't, you should be okay to sell it. Before you do, just to be absolutely sure, you might offer to let them have first rights to buy it if you get an offer on it.

Good idea. Researched through it & found nOthing. Just a text where they offerd to pay half removal. Now they don't want it.
It's just a CarWash sign, no copywright or patent .
Couple guys Ive talked to have both said it's worth $7500 easy, as is, but gotta find right buyer...

A similar sign was for sale on CarwashConsignment for a very long time. It was unsold for ages until seller became more realistic. I forget the selling price but it did not make the seller rich so suggest you move on and don’t waste energy on a deal that went sideways. I think it sold for $2k but don’t quote me on it.

I own the sign now, removed it so we could repaint & add our logos/marks. They don't want it now, end of story. Nothing written anywhere on who gets it. Was just gentleman agreement, split cost of removal.
I ain't looking to get rich. Anything close to $2000 & it's sold. Sign is in 2 parts, but BIG & heavy. Will take 2 stout guys to load.
