Looking for advice on the best way to tell when to change or clean the Membranes in the filters for the R.O. system.
I spot free water checks good, but I know they do require some service
just don't know the best way to go about determining when to service.

We use a continously displayed TDS meter with a probe.

Service depends on product quality and flow rate. You should know what the unit is capable of producing so you know if production is reduced. Poor water quality from membrane failure is usually caused by chlorine in the water. You should test the RO reject for chlorine at least once a month. I don't recommend cleaning membranes - you usually end up with reduced quality after a cleaning, and professionals will charge half of what new membranes cost just to clean them. If you maintain everything else properly you should get a minimum of five years from your membrane.

Where did you get your continously TDS display meter?
I have a hand held TDS meter now, but a continously display is interesting.
