I am sure I am not the only one that wants to cut down on garbage and dumpster fees. I just got a recycling dumpster and recycling bins to put next to the normal garbage cans by vacuums. Recycling is a lot cheaper - at least in Seattle. I am at a loss as to if customers will bother seperating trash. Seattle is a pretty "green" city, but I think most people are lazy if they aren't paying for it. Has anyone else tried this?

My spidey sense tells me this idea is a nice one but will not work.

I am usually an optimist (ask my wife), but my faith in people recycling vs tossing it at your expense is pretty low.

Waxman - After 1 day of recycling you are correct. I am going ot leave the lids open today and see if that makes a difference. I shouldn't say it isn't completely working...the people that normally jsut through their garbage on the ground still do so and maybe 1/4 of those that use the garbage are using the recycling. I thin I might have some instructional signs made up and see if that makes a difference.
