I pulled the bill validators from our self serve bays when switching to tokens. Anyone who has done this do you have a good method for plugging up the hole that is left in the meter door?
I havent removed my validators, but I've "plugged holes" before by cutting a stainless rectangle out of an old drop shelf vendor door (saved just for that purpose when I upgraded from pull knobs to electronic). Drill holes in the exact same pattern as the validator mounting lugs. (use a piece of cardboard to make a template.) Bolt it on. Makes for a durable, easy-on/off hole cover.
I've used a thin piece of aluminum taped to the backside and an epoxy syringe to front-fill. It self-levels pretty well, and you can cut the aluminum with tin snips.
My bill acceptor was surgically removed from my coke machine a few weeks back. I took a piece of 16 ga sheet metal and cut it to fit over the opening, then used heavy rivets to attach
