What has everyone found is the most cost effective...sending their 1034R timers to B&C for repair or replacing with a Dixmor LED6? Our wash has been in operation for 8 years and we have just lost our 3rd timer. The first one I replaced with a brand new 1034R, because I didn't know about the rebuild option or the Dixmor replacement. The second one I replaced with a Dixmor from reading the recommendations on this site. Now I need to do another and am not sure if I should spend the $100 to rebuild or the $240 to replace. I have not had the one Dixmor long enough to know if it is going to outlast the B&C by long enough to justify the additional expense. Anyone have enough experience with both to say what is the more cost effective solution? Thanks.

Repair 1034R or replace with Dixmor LED6?

i had trouble when I installed a Dixmor to replace my 1034R on a combo fragrance vac. I would have worked OK if it wasn't for the combo function. I was on the phone with Dixmor a few times but we tried various wiring and could not get it to work correctly. The footprint is a little bit different too. I ended up going back to B&C.
Your better off to replace the Coleman timer with a Dixmor LED-6. They last a lot longer and you can actually read the display in the sun light. I’ve ground off the lip on side of the tray that the Timer sits in so the LED-6 timer will sit flat on the tray. Dixmor also sells a flat tray that is bolts to the back of the face plate/door. I think they are around $10-$15, somewhere in that range.

You can't go wrong with the Dixmor timer! We have used the LED-5, then went to the multiple pricing with the LED-7's and we now use the DX-2002's. There's nothing wrong with the ones we pulled out, we just wanted to go to the multiple pricing and then the 2002's so you could read them from the street. Dixmor is an excellent company and their service is top-notch!

Is the timer what controls the countdown horn??? One of my bay horns is not working and never had one quit before?????

Yes the timer is what normally controls the countdown horn. You may have a loose wire, or the horn could be bad (not likely, but certainly possible) Not sure what timer you have.
So, if I currently have 1034r timers, and, want to install CryptoPay, is it best to go ahead and replace the timers with Dixmor at the same time? Which timer from Dixmor? The LED6 or LED7? Looks like the LED7 would require considerable modification to the Coleman bay doors. Also, is it as simple as unplugging the 1034r and just plugging in the new Dixmor?? Any rewiring involved?

The led 6 comes with a new wiring harness. It's pretty simple to rewire. I just did four bays last week in about two hours. I would recommend going with these timers over the Coleman ones because they interface with the crypto pay system. I believe one of the people at crypto pay told me that they make the led 6 timers for dixmor. There is a new video on kleen rites site about the crypto pay system with the dixmor timers.
If you want to use count up, you'l need the dixmor timer.
I believe it is called the LED6S "sooper"(sic) timer. Be sure and get the replacement mounting bracket. It's not much and takes care of the small size difference issue.

plug n play on my coleman doors. takes about 10 minutes to mount new bracket and program (once you get used to the programming)
I'm glad you let him know about needing the new bracket as well. I forgot about that. I didn't know that when I bought my first LED6 and had to cut the Coleman bracket to make it work. I started buying the bracket with the timer after that.
