Replace Coinco Vantage

Some years ago I got coinco Vantage acceptors at the Show after seeing Jim from Etowah squirt water into one.

For a couple of years worked great and now after having some repaired by Coin Co they failed again after a month or so. Now need repairs at $95.00 a pop ... again.

Coinco Tech guy says "Well they have a lot of water in them" ---Duh.

Also says they no longer make 24V acceptors. So, before I call Jim at Etowah any thoughts on Simplest / best Plug and Play replacement?

I don't know about "plug and play" but the Mars in the bays have been working almost flawlessly, 4 of the original six with no problems at all.

Are yours upstack models?

They're a Premier Regional Certified Service Center for MEI Electronics.
Anything that is used in vending machines they can fix.

I do not know what "Upstack" means. If it means bill enters at bottom and then stacks vertically then that is what it is.

Over the years I’ve repaired hundreds of validators. No validator is water proof or water resistant. If they are used in a car wash coin box they will fail over time. Granted some car wash operators have better luck with them lasting longer than other operators, if the customers spray them with water constantly, then they won’t last as long. I know of some operators who have given up on bill validators in the bays, tired of the vandalism, theft and repairing the water damage. I was never a big fan of the Coinco Vantage validator, to many problems with them. Coinco saw the hand writing on the wall and stopped making the 24 volt version that is used in the car wash coin box, as soon as the parts are gone that are in inventory they won’t be fixing them any longer. If you feel the need to use validators in your bays, use a Mars/’Mei validator and have someone conformal coat the lower transport board. I got a batch in the other day for repair, they are all water damaged, metal backing plate is badly rusted and the screws are rusted into the frames.

I'll keep the Coincos as long as I can because I have their Coupons out there that I have sold. So, when I convert I will have to pony up for an 8 bay swap plus a spare plus MARS coupons.

I've looked into the Mars coupons and they're very expensive unless you order like 10,000.
