Replace o-ring in Little Giant Shampoo motor?

Anyone ever replaced the 0-ring in the Little Giant shampoo motor? I had one that started leaking and I replaced the whole motor, but it just seems that the o-ring in between the blue head and the black body might be bad. It's a large thin o-ring and I was wondering if anyone has repaired one by just replacing that. If so, anyone know the size?

I've never taken one apart, but a bearing sales place will have a tool to measure your o-ring and should be able to get you replacements.

Thanks for that. Even if I have to get the seal kit, beats buying a new motor. I only take the head off because I have to rotate it so that the barbs work in the JC shampoo vac.

Depending on how old it is it may be better to replace. I think it's $135 t KR and $145 at Zoro, but of course you can use the 20% of coupon and it ships free.

I already replaced it, but must have damaged that o-ring somehow when rotating the head as it sprays water out of one side. Either that or it came defective. Bought it at zoro, so I'll just exchange it if I have to.

Did you replace the hoses? The last time I changed one of those pumps the hoses were so stiff it twisted the head and the impeller rubbed. I imagine it can deform the head enough to let it leak. I usually have to replace the hoses and fittings anyway because the hoses are either stiff or brittle, and the swivel fittings are leaking.

I did replace them. Can't ever get the old ones off, so I always cut them off and replace. Like you said, swivel fittings all start leaking too. I put everything together before installing the pump, so no pressure on the head. I'm guessing maybe when I rotated and screwed the head back on maybe the o-ring got caught. It does have a small crease in it.

Every one I ever did, I left the pump head Or Volute #1 on the vac and just used the new motor and remaining pump parts. On the Coleman vacs every time I touch any of the hoses I spend hours trying to keep them from leaking.

Good idea, I don't think I've ever changed out a shampoo motor without having to fix leak after leak. Amazing how so many swivels start leaking once you touch them. I end up changing most to just non-swivel barbs out of frustration.
