Has anybody bought the economical version they sell at Ring o Matic? and I don't see a price on the website how well do they work I know they vac style is better then the clam style, reason I am asking is that the rates around here for a truck to come out and pump the pits just doubled and I'm interested in buying one.

I have a clam shell type & I don't think it could get any better.

I've had 3 Ring O Matic's. First was a vacuum. Next two were clamshells. I prefer the clamshell if it will access your pit openings.

I have a 450. Stays busy. Might check as to where you can deposit dirt! I lined the box with 3/8" plastic helps dirt to slide out and no rusting out. Had to rebuild bucket arm and clam bucket once. Works great. jjw

Can anyone list a price? I would be very interested in getting one of these. I got slapped with some pretty big increases like DiamondWash did.

24" x 16" will get you in. But, pit has to be deep enough to manuver the lower arm. My pits are 800 gal. two loads when full. They are open. I have one wash that has two small openings, what were they thinkn? It is sucked. May try and cut a larger opening as to use the clam machine. I have a ranch and make silt dikes with dirt and plant grass on them. Grass grows very well and this serves a purpuse so somebody will try and find somthing wrong with the process and throw me in jail. Before I clean pits I put some fresh bugs in it and airiate to cleanup any oils. Get ahold of Ringomatic and get a price or put out the word, ebay, etc, and find a used one. Just be prepared to rebuild it. jjw

Be careful with the dirt you get out of the pit. It does grow things very well due to the phosphate content and other minerals. I heard of a wash operator that dumped it in an open field and ended up with a very nice crop of marijuana from the seeds someone had left at the wash. Almost went to jail.

Haven't had that problem with pit dirt. But the "Bud" really grows from the VAC dirt. A disabled vet cleans my vacs, fixed him up a place and some screens to go through the dirt and take a magnet to the dirt. Eighty + vacs so he is pretty busy. I cleanup with a frontend loader and put it in my ring o matic and haul to the fields and work it in. This allows good bugs to eat up the bad organics and I can kill the "weed" when I work the fields. Works for me. jjw
