I have a heco motor with a pulse and ran into an issue today where roller up was stuck and every roller was going up. There was also a pulse switch alarm on the tunnel controller. Once on a simulated pulse it worked ok. We also have had issues with our conveyor hydraulic power pack and just had a new one installed, cause we were going through pumps about every 5 weeks. It also had old oil and probably mixed/wrong oil in it too. After the new one was installed the pressure fluctuates from 125 to 600 psi and the cars per hour fluctuates between 115 and 160. Not that it is related but I wanted to put that information out there too. Any help or a place to start troubleshooting would be great, cause to throw parts at this it could become expensive.

Your controller scree somewhere should have a flashing item or counter for the pulses. Since it works on simulated pulse it would seem the controller is not getting the signal from the pulse switch. If all connections from the switch to controller are good you may have a bad switch. Even if it has a light on the switch tht flashes that does not for certain mean switch is sending the signal (Guess how I know. )

Conveyor speed fluctuation. Is it only under load or with or without cars? Did you adjust the Torque (Not speed) control on the power pack? HAs the issue existed from Day one on the new one? Did you use any old parts like the speed / torque control? Does issue vary with temperature?

Ohh ok, now is there a way to check that the continuity is there at the end of the cable where it goes into the cars per hour display/controller? Or can I only check connections? I am not familiar with how the pulse signal transmits through the cable.

Fluctuation is with and without cars. It existed since day one on the new power pack and the priority valve/flow control valve torque has not been adjusted, it is how it came from suncoast. It all came as a package power pack, so all new parts. I would say it doesn’t vary with temperature but I can’t be 100% on that one.

1, What type of controller do you have? There should be a screen that shows pulses as they happen in one way or another.

2. IS your pulse switch on the sprocket? If not, did the old power pack have it in the pack like AVW does or somewhere else.

3. If pulse not showing on controller you need to find where the switch is and if there is no obvious broken connection replace switch and cable.

4. I would not guess that most any mfgr would adjust torque correctly since that would vary by type and lentgh of conveyor. Is speed control lever type of knob type? Can you post a photo?
