I'm rehabbing an 8 bay wash, in need of some perlins (roof beams) and roof panels... trying to match my existing panels. 20-30% of existing panels are in need of replacement, therefor trying to patch as needed rather than completely replacing entire roof. Any help? I can't find these panels anywhere.

thanks!

Michael

Michael,
There is a metal roofing and facade contractor on the corner about a block or two from your warehouse. I dont remember the name. He represents many suppliers. If you wanna go straight to the supplier, call Mason Corporation in Raleigh. They supply the metal roof and facade materials for many buildings in our area. Probly have what you need in stock. Email them a pic and they can tell you what they have. However, i had the best luck just going over there. Check em out online.

Michael & Bob,

Just to add to Bob's post. Between a trustworthy sheet metal shop & our then neighbor & friend body shop ... we replaced a bunch of our metal panels & some of the supporting structure on our metal facade because of some anonymous rascals running into it (hit & run) over the previous years. The body shop prepped the metal properly & matched the colors perfectly. Both cost wise & quality wise we did better going that route ... that was over 12 years ago. The locals you have to work with may be different ... but like Bob suggested ... it probably is worthwhile to check into it.

On a side note related to our metal panels replacement: At the same time on the facade we replaced some "so called professionally done" sign company plastic lettering that had gotten brittle. Our approach was using 4' x 8' sheets of what was called permaboard that was made out of recycled plastic & the white is continuous thorough the material. We had Mathisons locally make a template of the lettering that was cut out with our Dewalt jig saw. Mathisons did the huge lettering template with their continuous paper roll large format Xerox printer. We provided the AutoCAD file so it was a straight forward print for them to do ($25 total charge on that template item). We embedded some inserts into the plastic lettering so fastening (1/4" stainless ready rod with ss nylocks) to the rear structural elements. The individual letters have already proved to be more long term than the local sign company's way of fastening their plastic lettering on buildings. Seeing plastic letter missing on sign on buildings around town was our cue to find a better way! Some local plastic sign outfits possibly were not our biggest fans once they realized that we found & proved a better work-a-around .

For non believers ... the large CAR WASH sign can be somewhat seen at the top portion of any page of our website at www.kingkoin.com
