My previous 3 washes have all been in rural communities less than 2500 population. We've only had our wash in a bigger city (pop 200k) now for 3 weeks but already we see a big difference.

The 6/1 in the bigger city requires a lot less cleanup that the the rural community washes. We deal with a fraction of the mud at the 6/1, and I can now see why so many of you don't think mud is a big issue...it isn't in the bigger city! Additionally, there is a noticeable difference in the type of customers. In our rural community wash I pick up at least a dozen beer cans a day blown out in the IBA, pickup bed debris, trash, grease, etc. We get some of that at the bigger city wash but a lot less of it. I'm beginning to see where the term redneck came from. lol

All in all, given the choice in the future I'll lean toward bigger city washes over rural community washes.

I would think that the crime in the bigger city would balance out the differences.

We also have both rural ,and city locations ,and I have the same observations as you do regarding mud ,pick up debris , etc. The only difference? Our rural customers wash more often!!!

I have both rural and large city washes also. I agree cleaning at the large city locations is easier, but the rural locations have less competition and out perform my large city locations.
