I have replace 2 of these to the tune of $950 a pop. Is there a company that refurbishes these things. Ryko did not ask for the old ones back and I kept them. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction so the next time one goes I can have a spare on the shelf. Seems like a waste to throw it away

Thanks Chris Risner, California Carwash

Try RDM in Texas. They rebuild several brand of PLCs and other electronic stuff for the car wsh industry.

I contacted both RDM and Digikey neither could help me with Ryko CC readers. I am assuming that Diamondwash is not using Ryko equpment I thought I read he used PDQ. I am curious Soapy if you ever had one go bad on you? I got both of mine in 2007 and I thought we had similar equipment. They are model SCI - 3200L. Of course then they have a sticker with a Ryko part # and a firmware version. I can only speculate that Ryko purchases these then installs proprietary firmware that only they can provide. 1 CC reader per machine in 3 and a half years. Is this normal? My CAW went down this month also that was $1400. I am sure Mac will have a field day with that one. Thanks again for the comments and suggestions.

Correction I remember Diamondwash has Ryko equipment right across the street from the factory.

Next time you need a CAW, contact RDM. They repair many car wash parts and their prices are much better. I'm not really gleeful when I see someone bend over to buy Ryko parts. If enough attention is brought to light with alternative sources, the market will take care of itself. I just see too many operators fork over hard earned money in a slow economy, and it irritates me. My company depends on having successful operators as customers.

Credit Card Reader

Chris,
Are you talking about the small plastic insert and wiring for the credit card in the AMTT? That is $1000?
Holy crap,I have an extra and I am going to send it to Digikey and have it refurbed if we are talking about the same part.
Thanks Steve

My card readers are silver not black. The electronics in the back are covered with black plastic instead of clear

What is Ryko using for cc readers in new installs? I contacted SCI and they said they said they don't supply the readers for Ryko anymore.

They have always used two types and the most popular has always been the Panasonic or "Pan" as they call it.
