My softgloss has a slow leak around the seal of the left rear brush gear box. Is there a way to fix the seal or just replace it when it finally goes. And what oil are most of you using in the gear boxes. Thanks

Most seals are relatively easy to replace. If you have a good power transmission supplier close by they should have it in stock. Just take your time and be careful. In some cases the surface where the seal sits may be corroded. Use a small amount of sealant before putting in the new seal The only time I found it not practical to replace the seal is if the shaft is badly corroded, in which case a new seal won't help.

The oil we recommend in our reducers is Mobil SHC-634. While it's more cost effective for our techs to just replace the reducers than rebuild them, you should be able to find someone that could do it for you easily.
