Hello - Within a day, my autowash encountered error codes 07 and 37, both seemingly connected. On two occasions, the gantry failed to start from its resting position, happening during different stages of the wash: once during the tire chemical spray and the other during the initiation of the top brush cycle.

Performing a hard reset brings the system back online temporarily, but the issue resurfaces after some time. Could it be an issue with the motor or relay? Any insights on how to debug this would be greatly appreciated.

Both of those codes deal with high voltage. The code 07 is usually either a complete loss of voltage incoming into the control panel, or it could be related to a VFD fault as well. A code 37 is often related to a set of auxiliary contacts to a contactor/overload. When this happens, do you need to reset either the main disconnect or any of the overloads? The only common between tire chem spray (if on-board chem spray) and the beginning of the top brush cycle would be the gantry drive should be starting. Are you seeing any error codes on the VFD? You can only view these if the VFD isn't powered down when the control cabinet is opened.
 
Hey Darin,

Been using your old threads to toss around some ideas with NCS tech. The issue popped up again today, even though we thought we had it fixed.

Here's what we've tried so far:
  • Swapped out the front proxy switch
  • Changed both left and right tire photo eyes
  • Checked the motor voltage while moving the Gantry, and we didn't find anything weird
  • After replacing the proxy switch, it ran okay for 2 days before failing. Then, after the photo eyes replacement, it lasted almost 1.5 weeks before acting up again. Keeps throwing different error codes each time.

Today’s hurdles:

First glitch was during a customer wash (wash# 7319): I've sent over screenshots of the error codes. Plus, when it went down, we couldn't nudge the gantry manually. Oddly, no error codes showed on the VFD.

The second time (during our test wash) (wash# 7320):, after a hard reset (powered down + brought the machine back home), different error codes popped up. It's been frustrating as we're still playing detective without a clear root cause.

Any ideas, throw them our way.

What does the C110 error code mean, thats the first one that popped up for wash #7319. I cannot find this in the diagnostic code list document.
 
Curious...when the machine shuts down is it always at or near the back of the car in the bay?
 
Usually, the machine tends to stop right at the front of the car. When it moves from the back to the front of the car and is about to go back for a different wash pass, it suddenly shuts down. Today was a bit different - it stopped in the middle, but it was still in the process of moving from the back to the front.
 
Hey folks, a quick update on how we sorted out the issue.

Turns out, the culprit was the motor gearbox throwing a tantrum. Swapped it out, and problem solved. Also, that C110 error code? It's the machine telling us a step's taking longer than it should that's what it means. Makes sense now.

Wish we could have nailed down the root cause sooner. Dealing with intermittent problems felt like playing Sherlock with a blindfold. Maybe there are more debugging tricks that I need to discover. All in all, breaking stuff has become a crash course in learning.

Does anyone have better ideas they use to debug such issues? What is the best place to learn how this machine works?
