Checking the front arm proxes tonight I noticed the front left arm prox would turn on when the arm was brought in and stayed on after it retracted, it was erratic sometimes it would shut off immediately after we retracted the arm other times it would take some time for it to turn off, as for the right front prox it would turn on when we brought the arm in and off when we retracted it. I have seen times at another wash in town where the front arms would come in but not retract and the top brush came down on top of them and started to spin until it timed out. Looks like I'm replacing a prox tomorrow.

Just had this problem again, but this time it was a result of a small drip of water leaking on both front proxes from the water lines in each arm when they would begin to wrap around the front of the vehicle somehow keeping the proxes on after they retracted, replaced the water lines and boom problem solved. I was ready to replace the motor and or contactor.

The arm proxes should all be "off" when the arms are fully retracted (out). As the arms come in, the proxes should turn "ON", and as they go fully closed, they should go "off". If you have one shorting on when fully retracted, the machine shouldn't arm. If it wasn't shorted when armed, and it was on when the top brush was told to drop, it shouldn't.
