RYKO Wash Card Program

I'm considering installing the Ryko Wash Card Option at my wash but wanted to get some feedback from current operators useing a "Wash Card" feature I have the AMTT CS and I heard the card readers to do this is alot of money as well as new software I currently have web site marketing which gives the new account holder a 6 digit number which they have to write down or remember, I am steering away from this because customers sometime don't remember their number I even considered RFID, any help would on the card system would be greatly appriciated.

Unless, you have checked with WashGear and discounted them, you haven't done all of your homework.

Listen to Pitzer on this. Wash Gear makes a nice system, as does Unitec and Etowah. All of them do what you want without and PIN numbers, and probably a whole lot cheaper.

I know what he has on site and new coinboxes are not the way to go. His current system would only require a new CC readers, if the existing ones do not have the capibility already. To go with another brand would render much of his other equipment useless and would require new coinboxes and support equipment. The current system has all the equipment networked together. Upgradeing your existing equipment is the most efficent and cost effective method to use club cards.

i have the wash cards from RYKO. they are expensive. smart cards are around $4 and i would not consider this card system if i were you. how can you sell 20-40 wash cards if they cost you $4!

IMO, this is an area that Ryko just doesn't get. Mr pro is saying that all the other systems are not compatible with ryko boxes. That's the problem. All the systems I mentiones are add on ones. You do not need to replace the existing boxes. I've done five of these now and all have the existing boxes still there. I would contact the other manufacturers. They try to make their equipment compatible with everyones stuff, much like a Hamilton or Unitec autocashier can be used with any automatic. They may work with the ryko boxes.If Ryko has designed their stuff so that only ryko things will work with it, consider that the next time you look for equipment. Have you seem the cost for the Etowah system? We're talking less than $1,500 per bay TOTAL. I would like to know what the ryko system costs. Diamond Wash, would you post what you'v been quoted?

Its not that they are not compatible, they can work with the Ryko. The system he has all works together through networking. The customer can use their card and it gives them a code to use for any other equipment on site including the venders and vacs. I do not remember if his site specifically operates the vendor since its been a few years since I have been there. At his particular site everything is made to work together. He would have to dumb everything down to use another brand of activation. You would also loose some of the diagnostic capibilities. Our salesman has never sold a system like this so we could use other brands at most sites, but again you loose on site diagnostic capibilities for the owner. Even the simpilest Ryko system will give you four digit diagnotic codes at the CAW4 inside the store or equipment room. The CAW4 tracks all of the information at the coinbox and at the car wash. This allows the owner to track wash usage and revenues by the month/day/hour with graphs and charts along with many other reports that are simple to access. We have installed other brands of activation (Ryko is an Intelio and Hamilton dist. and we are a Unitec dist.) but the diagnostic capibilities of the CAW4 normally out weigh any benifit of another brand. Ryko offers COMPLETE systems, but can be made to work with almost any other brand of equipment.

We are currently looking in the I-Connect program from Intellio and Ryko but at a hefty price tag also it's a great system. I just need the ability to make/sell pre-paid wash cards $25, $50, etc at the wash and at the gas station next to us also make fleet cards but I don't want to spend 10K for a system to get it. I know I will have to update my automatics card reader to accept the cards. What about RFID has anybody jumped on that with their in-bay automatics? tunnels are picking up on that concept around here more and more.

The Intelio/Ryko coinbox is like a souped up AMTTCS! We have a few here in Michigan. It is based on Ryko software so it interacts with all of the Ryko equipment. One nice feature is the ability to diagnosis, repair and download software from the internet. Many times Intelio makes repairs over the web without anyone on site. We have a test site in our area for the "baypay" system that allows all credit card transactions from the selfserve bays to be run through the rollovers Intelio coinbox. This is all done with the Ryko net 2 system. So far we have had no issues since we set it up a few months ago.

Well I think we are going to hold off on the Intellio/Ryko system for now and focus on the "Wash Club Card" programmer Part #23297001 but my question is do you have to change out your card readers for this? I hear the card readers are priced very high at Ryko.

No Randy, I am 1 of 4 owners of this wash and yes I do all the maintenance here what wash do you have in Iowa? or do you work for Ryko? because I see you are a "Tech Adviser" in your profile.

Depends on what readers you have now. Its been a while since I have worked with the wash club cards. As I remember Ryko only has two readers, one works for credit cards and club cards and one works only for credit cards. If you call Brad in parts with any serial # from the site he should be able to tell you what you have.

Well my appologies then I was told You were the maint man not one of the owners. And yes I am a Tech advisor for Ryko. I'm also proud of this company and our equipment, so I don't like hearing people bi**h about it.
