i need to purchase one of these as i will be changing over to tokens next week. does anyone have experience with both as to advise me which would be better for separating and counting? thanks
I've owned both. The 313 is a 303 with a large hopper on top. Everything under the hopper is exactly the same. If you move it from one wash to another, get the 303. If it is going to live in one place, the 313 is nicer.
The Scan coincoin counters are made in China now and aren’t as good as they once were, the blue ones that were made in Sweden are the best ones. The last new one I had I had a lot of problems with it. I sent it back and bought a “Cassida Compact & Portable Coin Counter/Off-Sorter (C500)” on Amazon for about $200 less than what the Scan coin 303. We have 3 of them now and they have work flawlessly. I would not get the Scan coin 313 model if I was to buy a Scan coin counter, if your dead set on a Scan coin get the 303.
I just bought a new 303. Quarters have to be DRY so as to not jam the hopper.
Another thing I wish I would've known is that if you are running 2 types of coins through it ( Quarters and Dollar Coins), it only rejects the larger coin, making it unable to count quarters.
Just personal preference, the 303 was easier to move around. We also keep the lid closed so if a hose should break water doesn’t get sprayed into the coin counter.
no i am not dead set on scan coin, just that i have seen that name the most on the forums. i will definitely consider the cassida as well. thanks for everyones input, very helpful!
