Waxman,
My internet has been down all day at the office, so I just logged on from home. What Eric posted was good and were all the things to check. From what I understand you unplugged the compressor from inside the vendor, plugged it into an extension cord, and blew the breaker on the extension cord. The refrigeration unit has gone bad. Then you left the unit uplugged and tried to power up the vendor. OK, no fluorescent lights; you do not have any 120 V to the transformer, so you will get no 24 V to the control board. You will need to check the voltage into the transformer to see if you have 120 V to it. The transformer is located inside the cabinet on the right side behind some removable covers. The second cover up from the bottom of the machine; it has keyhole shaped slots so the screws can be loosened and the cover lifted out. You should see the transformer right above the RFI; there is a "Line" side that is 120V and a "load" side that is 24 V. Measure these voltages and follow until you find a hot one. You might want to measure the voltages on the RFI to see if that black box is hot. Note: There is a small breaker on the transformer that protects the 24 V system and also a fuse that protects the 24 V system.
When the compressor goes, wires can be burnt in two and other problems might happen. If the weather has been hot there, that compressor really has to work.
