Which one works best, for your IBA ?

Dri-Brite is $57 & Dura Shield is $195.

Dri-brite contains mineral seal oil (5mg/m3), ammonium salts and detergent range alcohol.

Dura shield contains ether, alcohol and amines (neutralizes acid to form salt).

These are two very different products.

Dri-brite is an inexpensive drying agent designed for conveyors and Dura Shield is a protectant like Rain-X.

Mineral seal oil imparts surface contact angle (beading effect) of about 80 degrees and may last several days or so.

Whereas, Shield imparts angle of 100 degrees (greater beading) and may last several weeks.

This is one reason for difference in price.

I like Durashield better then the dri brite. I am thinking about trying Blendco's Supershield on next order, less expensive but am told it is almost identical to Durashield?? Any of you use this??

Robert, Do you ever give anyone an answer in layman's terms?
Seems like DuraShield is better, but is it worth 4x as much better?
Anyone else try SuperShield? That may be a great alternative....

“Do you ever give anyone an answer in layman's terms?”

Yes, when I talk with people who aren’t industry participants.

“Seems like DuraShield is better (than dri-brite)….”

Operator charges $5.00 for wash and it contains dri-brite as drying agent.

Operator charges $8.00 for wash and it contains dura shield as total body protectant (no drying agent is used or needed in package).

($8 - $5) - $.75 cost = $2.25

“but is it worth 4x as much better?”

It would be worth a lot to me.

The reason is you can’t sell drying agent as total body. The difference in the effects produced by the two products is too evident to consumers.

Super shield contains aliphatic hydrocarbon, ether and quatemary compound.

Is super better than dura? What makes it “super”?

Reportedly its exclusive additive, Body Armor - allows the protectant to adhere to the surface of the car more completely and build a thicker level of protection.

These characteristics are identical to other products like double bond which is a fluorocarbon coating that imparts surface tension reduction properties.

So, asking if super is better than dura is like asking if double bond is better than rain-x online.

Throw in price less cost and it’s difficult to answer in layman’s terms.
